*~* June Goal Update *~*

I can’t believe we are half way through the month of June. It has flown by.

I am going to be straight up honest to beginning with. I am seriously failing this month on my goals. I was suppose to start my 30 day goal challenge, my daily devotions, and reading, but I am failing. Every single day my house is full of children from the age of 2 on up to 12. Every single day I am just wore out. Once my house is quite I just want to lay down and go to sleep. Half the time I am out in no time. I know life gets busy and goals get over looked, but I seriously thought this month I would have it. Last month I achieved all of my goals, but school was still in session. I really feel bad.

Even though I feel bad, I am looking at the bigger picture. Even though I only done a couple of days of my 30 day challenge, I am still walking every day. I still haven’t had no soda (which I am no longer craving). I still want to find time to go to the library and check out a book and read.

How are y’alls June goals coming along? I hope better than mine.

~* A New Favorite Mascara *~

Hey Y’all

Happy Tuesday everyone!! To be honest I had a whole different post planned for today, but I feel like I have been hit by a truck. I am freezing, can’t get warm, sneezing my head off, and I had a pounding headache. I still wanted to make a post for y’all.

I have found a new favorite mascara and it is an high end mascara, I am really shook by this mascara!!

~ Marc Jacobs Velvet Noir Major Volume ~

Price: $26 @ Marc Jacobs

I got this in my Sephora Play Box last month. I thought the wand reminded me a lot of the Too Faced Better Than Sex Wand. To be honest I wasn’t really that excited to try this, but when I did I was shook. I am telling you I was amazed by this mascara. I have never used any Marc Jacobs products before. I am so in love with this mascara. I am already planning on buying the full size of this mascara. It gives me the volume I want and I can also use it on my bottom lashes and it won’t give me racoon eyes.

What are some of y’alls favorite mascaras?

*~*June Goals*~*

I am enjoying sharing my monthly goals with y’all. It gives me more motivation to actually complete my goals. I thought long and hard on this months goals and what I want to achieve. I think I have chosen great goals this month for me to achieve.

* Read at least 2 books

I know to some 2 books does not sound like much, but I haven’t read a book in a very long time. Because of my schedule has changed with babysitting, I want to start taking my son to the library weekly/bi-weekly to get him in on this reading goal of mine. I seen last month a lot of blogs I read about monthly goals, they have a reading goal in it. I want to add one in my goals this month.

* 30 – Day Challenge

I think I have decided that every month I need to have at least one exercise goal because I really want to start losing weight again. If y’all read my PCOS post (*~May 17th PCOS Advocacy Day~*), it is really hard for me to lose weight because of my PCOS. I need to start getting my butt in gear.  This month I have decided that I want to do a 30 – Day challenge. Well I am going to do 4 of them! I can’t wait till the end of the month to see my results.

* Stay offline One Day A Week

Technology consumes us, I want to get away from that. I want to reserve one day a week to stay offline. No internet at all.

*Try one new recipe a week

We use to try a new recipe a month and then it all went down hill, we got busy and we just forgot about doing it. I want to bring it back I want to try one new recipe a week this month.

* Daily Devotion Everyday

I know this was a goal last month and I achieved it, but I want to continue it. I also started a journal. I have been using the YouVerison app and I have been doing 2 bible studies at once. I have been focusing on parenting and marriage during my bible studies.

*~*May Wrap Up*~*

It is the end of May!! This year is flying by, but I do feel that this month slowed down some. We are almost half done with this year and that’s just crazy to me. Feels like we just got done with Christmas.

May was a great month for me . I almost achieved all of my goals. The only one I did not achieve was 100 followers, I am less than 10 away from it between my regular followers and email followers. I almost got it. Everything else I accomplished. I am very proud of myself, especially with doing my daily devotion and getting my 125 miles in (because I started the month out slow).   I am ready to start my June goals!!

This month I felt, like I was on the go all the time. Between picking my son up from school, getting my brothers kids off the bus, softball practices, softball games, and just life. I know June is going to be busy to, but I am ready for it. I think in June I need to be even more organized because my house is going to be filled with kiddos all month. So far I have survived the first full week of kids being out of school.

How did y’alls May go? Anything exciting happen?

*~Self Tanning…..Take 2~*

I have been trying the other Jergens Natural Glow and this is my update. If you haven;t read my other blog post how my last self tanning went wrong please read it (*~*Self Tanning Gone Wrong*~*).

I started using this self tanner once I got the other self tanner off of me. I hated having to start back from the beginning, with self tanning.

*Jergens Natural Glow*

Price: $8.65 @ Wal-Mart…mine had a $1.00 coupon

Since the other one from Jergens failed me, I was nervous about starting this one. I must say this one is pretty good. I wouldn’t suggest skipping a day of using it because you are suppose to use it daily. I did and then now I am waiting for the color to go away from me to start all over once again. That s the only problem I had with this one. I skipped a day and when I showered that night it was already coming off in spots, but that was my fault because it says that use daily!! I would recommend this product to y’all, if y’all are like me and don’t want to lay in the tanning bed, but want those summer legs.

What self tanners do y’all use?

~*~Happy Memorial Day~*~

Hey Y’ALL…Happy Memorial Day!!

Today we honor the men and women who have died while serving their country. As Americans, we usually go out and have a weekend on the lake or do something to spend time with out family. This is a great reminder that we won’t always have our loved ones around us.

Saturday was very special to. My nieces play ball close to our family cemetery and I have been wanting to go. My sister, my dad, my granny, my grandpa, my great grandparents, and my niece is buried there. It is really hard to go, so I have been putting it off. Saturday, I decided to go and I can’t believe it my sister and my brother came with. They already had to American flags placed on my dad’s grave and my grandpas grave.

Sunday we decided to have a day out on the water and fish. I had a lot of anxiety because my son was learning how to use the trolling motor and drive the boat. We caught a few fish and we enjoyed ourselves. I did use sunscreen and only one shoulder and part of my back got burned badly. It hurts, lol.

Please remember to honor those who gave their lives for our country, for us to have freedom to spend time with our family.

~*Step Parenting…No One Ever said it would be Easy*~

Today I figured I would write a more serious blog. Today there are more and more blended families out there and I wanted to touch on step parenting.

If this blog offends you in anyway, I am not sorry. These are my thoughts and I am always honest! I don’t want to be fake with anyone.

I have a blended family, I have a son from my previous marriage and my husband has a son from a previous family. There is an age difference between our boys, which makes it harder for the boys to bond. Also, what makes it harder is my husband went years without seeing his son because of his ex wife and finally last year, we finally got to start seeing him. He lives almost 3 hours away, so we only get to see him on breaks. Honestly, I knew co-parenting with his ex wasn’t going to be easy at all, but with my sons dad and step mom co-parenting is a piece of cake. We have went to softball games together, we have went out to dinner together, and we back each other up with parenting. They don’t feel the need to call if they are having a problem out of my son, they handle it and I trust them.

*~* The Struggle is Real*~*

The struggle is real when it comes to step parenting. My husband had to find away with my son when we got together. His parenting had to change and they had to learn to live with each other. It took us a while because out parenting was different. Today there are times where they still struggle, but my son will be a teenager this year, so it is also a struggle for me with my son. We have no one to interfere with our parenting, which how it should be.

With my husbands son, I feel like everyone has an opinion and we are made out to be the “bad” people. It’s either we need to change this, we are doing this wrong, we aren’t giving him enough time, we aren’t making him feel like part of the family, etc. My husbands ex at him on the phone, which doesn’t help at all. Last time my son was brought into it, which brought out my mama bear. Every child that comes up in our house (which is A LOT), is treated the same. Everyone has to follow the same rules and we spend quality time always as a family especially on the weekends. We feel like we are doing everything right, minus in some people’s eyes we aren’t. I feel like it would be easier on my husband, if he didn’t have people trying to interfere.

*~*What I am learning on the Way*~*

1. Don’t listen to anyone else

Co-parenting is hard, being a step parent is even harder. Don’t let people from outside tell you how it is going to be. Don’t listen to them when they try to give you their opinions…honestly…DON’T. If they are never in your house they don’t know, what is going on and how you parent.

2. Stand your Ground

A lot of people may disagree with this, but it is called respect. You cannot bend rules when you have a blended family. Especially if you have one child that lives with you and the other one doesn’t. The rules still have to be followed. You have to be fair. Again even if an outside source doesn’t agree, don’t listen. They don’t live in your house.

3. Always fit in family time

This is very important when having a blended family. Everyone has to bond because we are one big happy family. You do this by having quality family time. When you are trying to bond a blended family together, don’t worry about the family the lives outside of your house, that will come in time. Focus on everyone that is in your house.

4. Make sure all Children have their own space

Both of our kids have their own bedrooms. One issue we ran into is the age cap. So we had to make a rule that they cannot go in each others room without asking the other. Each child needs their own space and needs their own place to escape to. Yes, there might me one that doesn’t like it, but it is fair. That is why everyone has their own  bedroom

5. Put your marriage first

Yes, I said it….put your marriage first. You and your spouse has to work together when blended a family together. My husband and I we have fought a lot over this. We need to focus on us and not get mad at one another, when we run into an issue. At one point I was ready to walk way because he just gives in to people that try to interfere and it shouldn’t be like that.

6. Make sure all Children are treated fairly

Yes, I am going to put this out here. When I said children treated fairly, I am stating not only in your house, but making sure both sides of y’alls family is treating both children fairly. This is one thing we are working on it our family. I am going to put it out here….My son does not get treated fairly when it comes to my husbands family. He doesn’t. My husbands mom or does his sister ever ask for my son to spend the night or come and spend time with them. His mom has even came over our house and ask for my husbands son, right in front of my son. My son knows and he gets hurt by it all. My husband is suppose to be talking to his mom about it. This is our biggest issue.

When you’re a step parent remember, it is a struggle. You have to be patient with you step children, but you don’t have to be patient with the people around you that tries to interfere. If you can’t co-parent, remember still respect the other parents in this situation. It is what is best for your child.

To the people that think they know it all and gives advice. Remember…sometimes your advice is welcomed, but if you don’t see how someone parents and you are not in their house watching how they handle a situation…Keep your nose out of other peoples business. I know not nice to say, but there is no nice way of saying it.

To ALL co-parents out there…if you are respecting your ex and their spouse and can co-parent without an issue…Thank God, you are going what is best for your child/children. You are putting your child/children first. To those co-parents who wants to be difficult, grow up and start putting your child first. Stop posting on facebook how bad your baby mama or daddy is and put your child first. Even though you may not like your ex, that is still your child’s parent and no matter how many times they do something wrong or do something you don’t agree with, your child still loves them unconditionally.

*~*Self Tanning Gone Wrong*~*

Happy Friday everyone!! I hope everyone has had a great week, hopefully everyone has something planned for the weekend. I am currently sitting here waiting to see if our softball game is going to be called off. It has rained most of the week and it rained earlier today. If it is I should be finding out anytime now.

It is almost summer time and I wanted to get my summer glow. I am pail..like Casper white. I decided this year I want to try to self tan because I hate going to the tanning bed because it is bad for your skin and I am not a fan of a spray tan. I researched drug store self tanner because I wanted to see what works in drugstore before buying something expensive. After researching I decided to go with Jergens Natural Glow: Wet Skin Moisturizer. You are suppose to use it as a daily moisturizer when you are still in the shower and the pat dry when you are out of the shower. It is suppose to build up after a week to give you that natural glow.

~Jergens Natural Glow~

Price: $8.64 @ Wal-Mart (Plus they have save $1.50 coupon on it)

The first couple of days of using this I liked it. I was only putting it on my legs and arms to see how it worked. It was slowly building up to the color I wanted. Well the 3rd day of using this, I woke up and when I got dressed I noticed that I had a line on the side of my leg. It looked like were the water ran down my leg after I applied it the night before. It is suppose to be a wet skin moisturizer, so I didn’t quite understand why it would leave a line. I did nothing different from the first 2 nights. Well, I decided on the 4th night that I was going to dry off a lil before applying it because of the water line it left going down my leg the day before….OMG this was worse. It made me look dirty. in places it looked like I was just playing in dirt all day. Even my husband pointed it out that I looked dirty, so drying off a lil before applying it was not a great idea.

I tried to take a picture for y’all to see this water line. It was awful. The first couple of days, I was like yes it is going to work and then it was a complete fail. I would pass of this self tanner.

Today when I was at Wal-Mart, I got the Jergens Daily Moisturizer that isn’t a wet skin moisturizer. This product has great review and the wet skin worked great for the first couple of days, so I decided I would try to see if it works. Once I have tested it out for a week or so I will let y’all know how it works.

What self tanner products do y’all use and what self tanner products do y’all recommend?

~*~Goal Update~*~

Hey Y’all

Can y’all believe we are already half way through this month. I can’t!!! It is flying by for me. This whole year is flying by like crazy.

Because it is 1/2 way through this month I wanted to give y’all a goal update on how I am doing with this months goals.

~Monthly Goals~

1. 100 Followers on my blog!

I am at 77 followers right now on my blog (this is not counting email followers). I am getting there. I have a couple of more weeks left to get to my 100. Please share my blog with your family and friends. It would be greatly appreciated.

2. Daily Devotion Every Night!

I am happy to say that I have done my daily devotion every single night. I have even started a daily devotion journal to write down the things that stand out to me. I use an app and I have been focusing on my parenting and my marriage when it comes to daily devotion. I am very proud of myself. I have already finished 2 plans and I just started new daily devotion plans a couple of days ago.

3. Walk 125 Miles this Month

This one I haven’t done so good on. I am close to the 1/2 point, but I am not quiet there. There has been some days where I have just been lazy. When I have those lazy days, I try to make it up the next day, but it doesn’t always happen like that. I am VERY determine to achieve this goal this month!

4. Work on Myself

I am doing great with this goal also. I have been taking time to myself every week. I take a nice hot bath and just listen to music and relax. I also take some time to myself every night to relax and clear my mind from that day. I wish I could lose weight though. I struggle with losing weight. If y’all have any suggestions please let me know.

5. No Sodas

This is by far the hardest. We went to the movies the other day and I was like, I want a Dr. Pepper, I almost broke, but I got my a bottle of water instead. I have done this before years ago, plus when I had stomach surgery back in August I had to go without soda, which was ease then because it was for a medical reason. I struggle with this daily, I crave either a Dr. Pepper or a Diet Mt. Dew, it is just crazy.

I am still working daily on all of my goals. I am doing great with some and not so great with others. I am going to continue busting my butt on getting my 125 miles this month.

How are y’all coming along with y’alls goals? What goals are y’all struggling on this month?

Please don’t forget to like my post and follow my blog. Please share my blog with family, friends, and on y’alls social media to help me get to my 100 followers this month.
