~*Current Face Products*~

Hey Y’ALL

We have made it to Friday!! YAY!!! I have a busy day today. I have to go and pick up my color street strips, make a dollar tree run, and we have a softball game tonight. I still have to finish painting my kitchen.

I wanted to share with y’all some of my current face products that I haven’t reviewed yet on my blog, but I love them and use them daily.

~ CoverGirl Vitalist Healthy Elixir~

Price: $9.98 @ Wal-Mart

img_7995

I don’t use many covergirl products, but I seen Casey Holmes always talking about this foundation. I just had to try it. This is my drugstore go to foundation now. It has sunscreen in it, which is a bonus to me. It is also oil free. This foundation last all day. I still have to blot like 1/2 thru my day, but the foundation does not move at all. If you are looking for a good drugstore foundation, I would recommend this foundation.

*Coty Airspun Loose Face Powder*

Price: $5.97 @ Wal-Mart

img_7994

I think this is a face powder that everyone probably has in their makeup collection. For the price this is well worth it. It is great for baking your under eye area. After you get pass the smell, you are good to go. The smell reminds me of my Granny’s face powder she use to have in her bedroom. This can get messy, but I take the top off and dip my sponge or brush straight into the powder and it is less messy. The puff they comes with it I don’t like at all. This is a highly recommended face powder. It works like a high end face powder and it’s under $6.

~Covergirl Tru Blend Blush~

Price- $9.79 @ Walgreens

img_7996

You can tell by the package this blush is really well loved. I really, really, love this blush. It blends perfectly. This is my go to blush I use, if I do not know what blush I want to wear for the day.

This is some of my current face products I have been stuck on this month. What are some of y’alls current face products?

~Starting the Week off Right~

Hey Y’all!!

14-Attractive-Happy-Sunday-images-with-quotes.jpg

It’s the beginning of the week, but it is the end of the weekend. Is it just me or does the weekend always go by faster than the rest of the week?

Last week I am just going to call it like it was….I was LAZY!! I think I had a name everyday last week, but yesterday. I have been really unmotivated and just tried. I have no idea what has gotten into me at all. This week I want to change that.

Every week I make a list of things I need to either deep clean or things I clean monthly. My list is usually done by friend, this week I think I did like 3 things on it. I need to work on my motivation on getting things done. This week I want to finish that list and I want to paint my kitchen. I am also behind in how many miles I do a day walking because I have been lazy.

Something that has been really getting to me is my husband being on a different schedule then I am. When he first went to night shift it was suppose to be for a couple of months, we are 4 months in. Then, 2 weeks ago he was told he was going back to 1st shift this week…guess what…he got lied to again. I have been trying to be patient with it, but it is really getting to me. With us being a different schedules it is really hurting our marriage because we hardly get anytime together. I am praying he changes back soon.

This week, I AM getting back my motivation….I am going to be determined to get things done. I am also going to work on going to bed earlier. I also need to work on getting my daily list done and also my deep cleaning weekly list. I can do it…that is what I keep telling myself.

I hope everyone had a very blessed weekend with their family and I hope everyone has a wonderful week.

~*Allure Beauty Box*~

Hey Y’ALL!!

I hope everyone has had a wonderful week. I have had a very busy week. Our preseason for softball has started and regular season starts next week. It is just going to be a busy summer all around, but my goal is to still make this fun.

I have had my Allure Beauty Box for a little over a week and I have been dying to post about it. I thought I canceled this box, but I guess I didn’t. I am really debating about keeping it. The Allure Beauty Box is $15 a month and I feel that it is a little more expensive than the other ones.

*April’s Allure Beauty Box*

Nudestix Gel Color Lip + Cheek Balm In J Mama

Price: $24 @ Nudestix.com

(Use Code Allure10 for 10% off)

I was surprised when I seen a full size product in the Allure box and it being in a color I would wear, I was super excited. I don’t see me using this on my cheeks, but I will use it on my lips. I did already try this out and I love it. I was shocked on how long it lasted. I am going to have to check out more colors in this.

The Original Makeup Eraser

Price: $20 @ Makeuperaser.com

(Use Code Justwater for 25% off)

img_7800

I have never seen or heard about this product before till now. I have been meaning to use this, but I get into my routine and forget all about having a product that I need to test out. I have been trying to find out if these are just a one time use or what. It didn’t really give many details in the allure beauty box in the booklet that has the products in it. If anyone has used the makeup eraser please let me know how you like it.

Drunk Elephant Umbra Sheer Physical Defense

Price: $34 @ Drunkelephant.com

img_7798

This is a sunscreen and I am curious to try this out. During the summer I am outside a lot, especially with ball season. We go kayaking, fishing, park, softball, etc and I want to find more sunscreens I can use for my face. Skin Cancer runs in my family and I want to protect my skin as much as I can. I don’t know about the smell though of this, I ain’t really digging it.

Skinfix Foaming Clay Cleanser

Price: $20 @ shop.skinfixinx.com

img_7797

I am always up to trying new cleansers, but I also gets nervous because I have been breaking out easily here lately. I am hoping this won’t make me break out. It says it smells like fresh and cucumbers. It also says it does not dry out skin, which that is always a plus for me.

Biossance Squalane + Phyto-Retinal Serum

Price: $95 @ Sephora.com

img_7799

I can tell you right now, no matter how amazing this stuff is I will not be buying the full size. When I seen the price I really said OMG out loud. That is a lot for a serum. I hope it does amazing things for my skin with the full price being that expensive.

As I use the products I will keep y’all updated on my thoughts on each product. I like getting these boxes because it lets me try products I would of never tried before. I do think I am going to cancel my Allure box and just keep my Sephora play box because I like that one better.

What beauty boxes do y’all get?

*~* May Goals *~*

Hey Y’All !!

Can y’all believe it is already May!! This year is just flying by, I swear. Here in Tennessee our school will be out in 25 days, 25 days till summer, wow.

Last month, I made monthly goals for the first time ever and I shared it with y’all. Let me tell ya that is the best decision. I didn’t achieve them all, but I achieve most of them. I figured because I had success with it last month sticking to them because I shared them with y’all, that I will share my May goals with y’all this month. This month, I think I made more goals because I wanted to challenge myself and there were so many things I really wanted to work on.

~May Goals~

  1. 100 Followers on my Blog

I need to focus more on my blog and I want to achieve at least 100 followers this month. I think it is a very achievable goal.

2. Daily Devotion Every Night

I want to make sure I am fitting my daily devotion every single night this month. It takes 21 days to make something a habit and there is 31 days in May.

3. Walk 125 miles this month

Yes, it seems like a lot, but I have been staying busy and getting miles in, but there are some days where I am lazy. I think this is another very achievable goal. Makes me want to work hard at it every single day. I figured it up it is only like 4.04 miles a day, lol.

4. Work on myself

I need to focus and work on myself. I feel like with my schedule being so busy, I hardly have time for myself and I need to work on myself and give time to myself for me to be the best I can be for everyone else that needs me.

5. No Sodas

I think this one is going to be the hardest. Last month I cut out Dr. Pepper completely and just stuck with water, lemon water, and Diet Mt. Dew. I only allow myself 1 Diet Mt. Dew a day and I want to cut that out completely. Like I said this is going to be the hardest for me to follow. It will be my challenge.

I think all of my goals are very achievable this month. What are some of y’alls May goals?

Motivation Lost….If Found Please Return!

Hey Y’ALL

Happy Monday…..for me not really. I am dragging this morning. It is only 10:00 a.m here on this Monday morning and I am already ready for a nap. My weekend was busy, busy, busy and now it is Monday. I have had no time to relax I feel like.

I will start with my Saturday. I feel like once my feet hit the floor Saturday, it was go, go, go. We had our first ball practice, which was great, but everything before and after ball practice was busy. I had my sisters boxer this weekend, that meant 4 dogs in the house and we had to keep my sisters boxer and our blue heeler separate because the boxer attacked our blue heeler. It was an entertaining time. Our small dogs were afraid, but they all survived. Before ball practice we had to go pick up a pitcher’s mask for our team and had to make a water cooler of Gatorade. After ball practice, my son wanted to go stay the night with my mom and step dad and we had to drive a hour to go drop him off. I wished my parents lived closer.

Sunday….my plan was to go to church, but I didn’t. My husband bought a new alarm clock and he said he was setting the new alarm to see if it would wake him, but guess what….the alarm did not go off. Yep, he didn’t turn it on after setting it. I woke up after 10, I guess I needed the rest. After my sister picked up her dog, we had to drive all the way back to go pick up our son, then we drove a hour in the other direction to go to the batting cage. We didn’t get home till late and I had to wake up and take our son to school this morning.

So, with my busy weekend and then no sleep last night, my motivation is now gone. I have no clue where it went, all I know is I need it back. I have to get ready to go into town with my husband and nephew because I have a lot to do in town. I have to grocery shop and run to the dollar tree to get more items to organize the house. So…if yo see where my motivation went please return it to me.

*~* Goal Update*~*

Hey Y’ALL!!

It’s Thursday…we are almost done with this week! This week has went by quickly for me. Like yesterday when I made my post about changes, I first put it was Tuesday…ha ha ha, I had to go back and change it. I was like dang it is already Wednesday.

I wanted to give y’all a mid month goal update. If y’all read my,~* Life…It just happens*~, y’all would of seen the goals I set for myself this month. I must say some that are extremely important I am failing on and others I am succeeding in…I believe.

~Goal Update~

  • Restoring my relationship with GOD: I feel like I am failing at this. I have been praying everyday and I have been trying to fit in my daily devotion book, a couple nights a week. I want to make time for it every day. Also, I haven’t made it to church this month. This past Sunday where we were super busy this weekend, I totally forgot to set my alarm and I slept till 11:30 am….I NEVER sleep that late. On Wednesday nights I can’t go because, 1. My husbands truck is broken so he is driving my car to work and 2. He is still working nights. He is at work more than he is here so half the day I am left with no car. I need to work harder on this goal because this is the most important goal I have this month.
  • My Marriage: I don’t have a bad marriage, but it needs to be worked on. We did go to Nashville last Friday and we stayed in Nashville for the night. Saturday was going great and then when we got into town…bam he had to go fix something at work. I was MAD!! We had plans and he it didn’t need to be fixed until Monday morning. The guy that is over the place (not the owner), only wants to do things on his time and I was over it, I lost it. My husband knew I was mad because we had family plans. Friday he took vacation for us to go have time together and I feel that he should of told the guy not to wait till last minute to tell him when something breaks (because it broke the day before) and that it could wait. After he finally got home we worked it out and realized that he should of told him that it could wait.
  • Lose 10 pounds: I know 10 pounds sounds like a lot to lose in a month, I realize that now, but at the beginning of the month it didn’t seem that way. I am happy to say though I am down 5 pounds. I am trying to get our basement in order or office for me to start using my treadmill again. I have been drinking mostly lemon water. I will have a Diet Mt. Dew a couple times a week and some juice a couple times a week, but other than that just water. I feel like my taste buds have changed since drinking more water. My husband brought me home a juice this morning and I as I was drinking it, I realized I just wanted my water.
  • No Buying Makeup: Honestly I thought this goal would be the hardest one to follow, but shocker it has been the easiest to follow. I avoid the makeup in stores period. When I was in Nashville, I did almost break. The makeup store in the mall was going out of business…Thank God it wasn’t a huge sale. Plus, I live in a small town, so when I go to a bigger city, I always stop at Ulta. That was hard not to go in Ulta….super hard.
  • Organizing: I am Spring Cleaning and organizing every room in my house and hopefully by the end of the month my whole house will be organized, minus the basement. We have a full size basement and it became a catch all room, there are so many boxes down there to go through, I am dreading it. I am slowly working on other things in the basement. I think I am going to buy a couple of tubs weekly and start getting rid of the boxes in the basement.
  • Letting Go of People that Do Harm: I think I am doing okay on this one. The people I feel like are doing harm to me or my family I have said something, minus to a couple of them and I think my husband is going to take care of that. When I say harm I am not meaning physical, I am also meaning emotionally, not treating you like family, using us…etc. I decided that we need to talk to a lot of people and the ones I have said something to, have changed their ways. I feel so much better. I feel that if people wants to be in your life then they should also make an effort to be in your life also, not just expect us to do all the work. That is not how it works. Something I cannot stand is my son being treated differently than other children in the family and a lot of people do that. He is at that age now where he notices and he says something to me. I don’t play around when it comes to my child.

I feel that I am doing okay with my goals, minus with goal #1, which is my relationship with God. What are some of y’alls goals for the month of April?

Please don’t forget to like my post and follow my blog. I will have several changes coming this week to my blog.

~*Blog Changes*~

Hey Y’All

Hope everyone is having a wonderful Wednesday.  I am working on my cleaning list for this week, which thankfully I am almost done with it. I am excited because my sister is bringing over her BIG Boxer tonight and I get to doggie sit for her. I am nervous a lil because my dogs inside are so much smaller, minus our Blue Heeler (which may be pregnant), but he knows her because my sister has watched her before. I have to hide my rabbit from him because he has killed rabbits before and mine lives in the house. Harley runs around, she is house trained (most people don’t know rabbits can be trained). I will end up putting her cage in my bedroom. This morning she beat up my dog Gunner….for some odd reason she just hates him, but loves our smaller dog Heaven (but she was raised with Heaven).

Anyways, I wanted to let everyone know that there will be changes coming to my blog this week. I have decided not to only focus my blog just on beauty. I will be adding just everyday things, mainly lifestyle to it (I will still post about makeup and review products for y’all). As I thought about it my blog is called Southern Beauty and there is beauty in everything around us, not just in makeup….It is on everyday life, every minute, and every second of the day. I will also be looking at changing my theme also. Maybe just a whole site change in general. The name Southern Beauty will stay the same though.

Thanks everyone for following my blog, liking my post, and reading my post every time I post.

Thanks,

Dana

*~*Change of Mind…..*~*

Hey Y’ALL!!!

I know, I know…it has been a couple of days since I have posted. I have been super busy!! Friday my hubby and I went to the Grand Ole Opry (he got me tickets for my birthday) and then we decided to stay the night in Nashville. We were suppose to have softball practice (our first one this season), but because of the weather we had to call it off. Sunday and Monday, well I have been working on Spring Cleaning.

The title of this post doesn’t tell y’all much about what this post is about, but it fits. I did a post last month about the new Revlon Foundation (~* Revlon Photoready insta-filter Foundation*~) and I have changed my mind about how I feel about that foundation.

img_7638

If y’all want to know the price and everything else about this foundation, please go check out my last post about it, it has all the info in it (~* Revlon Photoready insta-filter Foundation*~). I tested this out for a week, when I first bought it and I had no problem with it really, minus the price and it does not last that long. Well now I have problems with it and I wanted to update y’all. I have combo skin and there are times were I am more dry in areas and then there are times were I am more oily and then there are times were I have dry and oily going on at once on my face. Recently, I have been more oily because of the weather change and this foundation DOES NOT work with oily skin at all. I put this foundation on and OMG it would not stay put. I should have just washed it off and picked another foundation. I had the worst makeup day ever. Not only that I hardly ever get break outs and when I went to wash it off, I have a huge spot near my cheek now. It is not worth it for the price at all. I am probably just going to end up trashing it now because I do not want to try it out again and get more break outs.

**No Makeup Days**

Hey Y’ALL 🙋🏻‍♀️‼️

OMG….is it just me or is this week just going by very, very slowly? I can’t wait till tomorrow because my wonderful hubby got me tickets to the Grand Ole Opry and we are going tomorrow night :). I am just ready for it to get here, it has been on my bucket list for years and years.

No makeup days, we all have them right? I am one of these that I normally wear makeup everyday, but this week…honestly, I haven’t been feeling it at all! I have no idea what has gotten into me, but I have skipped putting on makeup this week. I have no idea what has gotten into me, but I am like oh well I will survive without it. Do y’all ever go through stages where you just don’t want to put on makeup? I honestly think because I know the summer is almost here and with my house full of kiddos, I won’t have time to put on a full face of makeup. Here in good ole Tennessee where I live we have about 6 weeks left of school before summer break hits.

Those with kids, especially during the summer where do you find your time, to pamper yourself? I just have 1, but because I am blessed to stay at home I do help my family out and watch my nieces and nephews. Do y’all schedule it into y’all daily routine or if you don’t have time you just don’t have time?

I know this was a random post of me just rumbling on and on, but please don’t forget to like my post and follow my blog.

Also, I have a poll if y’all please let me know what you think because I might be changing things up here on my blog.

Thanks for reading,

Dana

~*~Out with the Old, In with the New~*~

Hey Y’ALL

Happy Wednesday!!

We are half way through this week and I hope all is well with everyone.

We all have those products that we love for a moment and then we find something new, something better. It happens with anything in life. Some of the products I have reviewed on my here on my blog others I haven’t.

~Out with the Old: Maybelline Age Rewind Concealer~

Price: $7.94 @ Wal-Mart

img_7513.jpg

This use to be my go to concealer. It is a great concealer, it hides your dark circle and conceals those areas we all need concealing at some point. I use to go through this like crazy because you don’t really get much in it. It doesn’t last that long especially when you use it every single day, but sadly I will not be repurchasing this concealer after I finish what I have.

~In with the New: Catrice Liquid Camouflage Concealer~

Price: $5.99 @ Ulta

img_7514

I just recently made a post about this concealer (~New Favorite Drugstore Concealer~), I am in love with this concealer. It is my new favorite and I use it daily of course. It is also cheaper than the Maybelline Age Rewind. Not only is it cheaper and better than the Maybelline Age Rewind, you also get more product, which is always great.

~Out with the Old: Maybelline Baby Skin Instant Pore Eraser Primer~

Price: $5.94 @ Wal-Mart

img_7511

I just realized here goes another Maybelline product I won’t be buying again. This is another product I use to use daily in my “T Zone” to minimize the appearance of my pores, but I have found a WAYYYY better product that is my new favorite primer for my “T Zone”. I have nothing against the Maybelline Baby Skin, but I won’t purchase it again.

~In with the New: Soap and Glory One Heck of a Blot Instant-Perfecting Power Primer~

Price: $14.00 @ Ulta

img_7512

Yes, the downfall to this primer is so much more expensive than the Maybelline Baby Skin, but I am telling y’all it is so much better. I use this daily in my “T Zone” to minimize the look of my pores. It leaves my skin so smooth and it does wear under makeup better than the Maybelline Baby Skin.  You do get more with the Soap and Glory, you get 1 fl oz and with Maybelline you only get 0.67 fl oz.

What products have y’all loved once upon a time, but ended up finding something better?

Please don’t forget to like my post and follow my blog 🙂
